In Kolkata, a vast trafficking network run by Alexander remains hidden behind a façade of legitimate business and uneasy alliances. He orchestrates the kidnapping and sale of girls, leveraging the help of his brothers Bretlee and Charles, a corrupt port official, and a police informer to move captives to international buyers. A bold raid by a CBI officer at the port ends in tragedy when Alexander murders the investigator to erase any trace of the operation.

Shankar, Chiranjeevi, and his sister Mahalakshmi, Keerthy Suresh (often called Maha), relocate to Kolkata. Shankar quickly earns local admiration by pulling people from danger, notably rescuing children from an electrical accident, and he finds work with a taxi company owned by Vamsi. Mahalakshmi is enrolled in an arts college, and life takes on a rhythm of routine generosity and steady surveillance over the family’s safety. Shankar’s first passenger, Lasya, Tamannaah Bhatia, is a determined lawyer who sees a fast track to advancement in a test case she hopes to win. She persuades Shankar to act as a mute witness, a request that sets off a chain of professional and personal entanglements. The plan briefly seems to work until the judge overhears Shankar speaking to Mahalakshmi, which jeopardizes Lasya’s standing in court and triggers a clash of pride and necessity.

Lasya’s attempt at revenge is rebuffed when Vamsi steps in to defend Shankar, complicating the power dynamics around the case. A later trip to a club escalates tensions as Shankar exposes Vamsi’s infidelity to his wife, driving a wedge between them and further destabilizing the already fragile balance of influence in Kolkata. In the meantime, the Kolkata DCP asks Shankar and other transport workers to flag any suspicious activity tied to Alexander’s syndicate; Shankar’s keen eye helps him identify several members on a list, culminating in a successful raid that rescues three girls from trafficking. Bretlee, Bitthiri Satthi, then orders Shankar’s assassination, and a violent confrontation ensues. Shankar fights off Bretlee’s men and kills Bretlee, discovering a police informer had sent Alexander’s gang a photo of him. In a nod to prudence, Shankar stores the gun used in a locked drawer filled with weapons, a quiet preparation for the battles ahead.

A critical turn comes when Shankar picks up Srikhar, Sushanth, from the airport; Srikhar’s arrival immediately draws Mahalakshmi’s attention, and he reveals that his arranged marriage to Mahalakshmi is moving forward. Despite Mahalakshmi’s initial hesitation, Shankar encourages Srikhar to be honest about his feelings. The engagement proceeds, and Lasya attends the ceremony, a moment that deepens the tension as Lasya—feeling sidelined—teams up with Vamsi to derail the wedding, and she blindsides Shankar with a cruel ploy suggesting Mahalakshmi has been kidnapped. It’s a ruse, but Lasya’s plan gradually winds toward a confession: she falls in love with Shankar.

Meanwhile, Charles, Alexander’s brother, arrives in Kolkata investigating his siblings’ deaths. Using footage from a nearby cruise ship, he tracks Shankar, and when he finds him, he is confronted and killed. Lasya witnesses the death and declares she cannot let her brother be associated with a killer’s family. Shankar clarifies that Mahalakshmi is not his biological sister, a revelation that reframes loyalties and sets up the emotional stakes for what follows.

A flashback reveals Shankar’s past, when he was Bhola, a ruthless Hyderabad thug. After being stabbed by enemies, he is saved by Mahalakshmi. When a builder threatens her family, she calls on Bhola for help; though he initially exploits the family, he is moved by their gratitude when he rescues them. He later saves Mahalakshmi from Alexander’s gang, but her family is killed and she loses her memory. Shankar vows to protect her as if she were his own sister, a pledge that enriches their bond and hardens his resolve.

Back in the present, Shankar unveils his real motive to Lasya: he has come to Kolkata to wipe out Alexander and his gang, agreeing to Mahalakshmi’s marriage to ensure her safety even if he does not survive. Lasya promises to honor the wedding despite the danger.

Alexander arrives in Kolkata seeking vengeance for his brothers’ deaths. He kills a port officer who refuses to help him and uses a police informer to locate Shankar. When Mahalakshmi sketches Shankar’s face by accident, she tries to mislead Alexander, but Shankar intervenes. Alexander’s men confront him, and the informer’s threat fails to derail him, though the informer is killed in a tense standoff. During a shopping trip, Alexander taunts Shankar by threatening to kidnap Mahalakshmi, and when she disappears, Shankar discovers her in Alexander’s warehouse. Misled by Alexander into believing Mahalakshmi is dead, Shankar races to find her alive in his car. With her memory returning, Mahalakshmi helps Shankar locate and rescue her. In a final showdown at the port, Shankar defeats Alexander’s men and kills Alexander with a trident, fulfilling his long quest for revenge.

The resolution comes as the DCP announces that Alexander’s trafficking network has been exposed and all the trafficked girls have been returned home, bringing a fragile measure of peace to those touched by the crime. In the aftermath, Shankar’s commitment to protecting Mahalakshmi remains steadfast, a quiet testament to the costs of justice and the power of chosen family.
