Radha Pratap Sridevi grows up amid luxury, surrounded by her wealthy, widowed father Raja Pratap Sudhir Dalvi, her devoted maternal grandmother Lalita Pawar, and her paternal uncle, the influential Dr. Narendra Prem Chopra, who runs a mental hospital. After a car accident claims Raja Pratap’s life, Radha’s marriage prospects shift toward Naresh Puri [Dan Dhanoa], the sole heir of Raj Puri Kader Khan. The arrangement is torn apart when Arun Prakash [Mithun Chakraborty] bursts into the ceremony, presenting proof and a witness, Professor Peter Fernandes Ashok Kumar, that Radha is already bound to him.
The wedding is thrown into chaos. Radha insists she has never met Arun, yet the wheels of fate start turning in a different direction when Narendra’s family pressures Radha to sign a divorce so she can wed Naresh. She refuses at first, then admits a mistake: she has indeed been married to Arun. Arun lives with his brother Suraj Prakash Sunil Dutt, a jailor, and Suraj’s wife Laxmi Moushumi Chatterjee. A new tragedy emerges when Naresh is arrested for smuggling and ends up murdered by a convict named Mahaveer [Dharmendra], who has a vendetta stemming from a past crime involving Naresh and his sister Vimla Divya Rana.
Enraged by his son’s death, Raj Pratap ramps up the pressure, ordering intimidation and abuse against Laxmi. Soon after, Narendra Pratap is found knifed to death, and Suraj confesses to the crime, leading to a six-year prison sentence in the very jail where he once worked. Raj schemes further by abducting Radha, Laxmi, and Arun and shipping them to an isolated island beyond any jurisdiction, a place where outside help can’t easily reach them.
As the plot unfolds, questions linger: why did Arun claim Radha’s marriage in the first place? what compelled Suraj to confess to Narendra’s murder? and what fate awaits Raj’s captives on that remote, ungoverned island? The narrative threads together a web of familial greed, passion, and retribution, keeping the tension taut as each character’s motives come under closer scrutiny.
