Whity, a mixed‑race butler, serves the troubled Nicholson family on a 1878 frontier ranch in the American Southwest. Patriarch Ben Nicholson lives with his attractive young wife Katherine and two sons from a previous marriage—Frank, who is gay, and Davy, who has a mental disability.
