Turbulence Echo Score Breakdown

Turbolence delivers striking aerial visuals that capture the Italian and Dolomite mountain ranges, yet the film is undermined by consistently poor acting and a predictable, uneven plot. Reviewers praise the cinematography and occasional suspenseful moments, but they criticize the artificial special effects, flat characterizations, and lack of narrative tension. The mixed feedback results in a modest entertainment value that is offset by notable technical and storytelling flaws, leading to a fairly lukewarm overall impression.

Our own 0–100 rating, built from five aspects: art, character, story, the sensory experience and how well a film rewatches.

  • Art & Craft 68

In terms of art and craft, the film’s cinematography receives consistent acclaim for its expansive aerial shots of mountains, providing moments of visual splendor. Conversely, multiple reviewers condemn the special effects and CGI as artificial and unconvincing, detracting from the overall polish. The combination yields a moderate visual score, with strong composition offset by technical shortcomings.

  • Character & Emotion 48

Regarding character and emotion, the acting is widely described as subpar, with reviewers highlighting flat performances and a lack of depth across the ensemble. While a few viewers note occasional believable moments and suspenseful interactions, these are isolated. The predominance of criticism leads to a low character score, reflecting limited emotional resonance and poor chemistry.

  • Story & Flow 42

The story aspect suffers from a predictable and uneven narrative, with many critics calling the plot weak, sloppy, and internally inconsistent. Pacing is described as slow early on, though one reviewer praises a fast‑paced segment that maintains audience interest. Overall, the storyline offers limited originality and tension, resulting in a low to moderate story rating.

  • Sensory Experience 58

In sensory experience, the film’s visual style excels in capturing breathtaking aerial scenery, earning repeated praise for its composition of mountain vistas. Sound design and musical scoring receive little commentary, while the special effects are criticized as noticeably artificial. Consequently, the sensory score reflects strong visual appeal tempered by deficient auditory and effects quality.

  • Rewatch Factor 55

The rewatch factor appears divided; several reviewers label the film a waste of time and advise skipping it, citing weak plot and poor performances. Conversely, a few audience members report enjoyment, highlighting the scenic visuals and occasional suspense, and recommend it for casual viewing. This split perception produces a moderate rewatch rating.

Spoilers ahead

Zach is a sharp, driven businessman who has just overseen layoffs that hit veteran employees hard. The stress and the threat of retaliation compound when one former worker, Hans, snaps and shoots himself after threatening Zach with a gun. This violent reminder of the personal cost of corporate decisions sends Zach into a bar, where a tense encounter with a stranger quickly shifts his night. The woman introduces herself as Julia, and what begins as a chance drink soon spirals into something more complicated. Julia’s warmth and wit charm Zach into revealing a brittle truth about his life: he is married to Emmy, a kindergarten teacher, and he mentions a belated honeymoon planned for the two of them in the Dolomites.
