Jeremy William Fredric Smith, known professionally as Jeremy Irvine, is an acclaimed English actor, best recognized for his striking debut in Steven Spielberg's epic war film War Horse in 2011. His adept portrayal of Philip 'Pip' Pirrip in the 2012 film adaptation of Great Expectations further solidified his position in cinematic circles. Irvine's dedication to his craft is evident in his Method acting for The Railway Man (2013), where he endured two months without food, shedding around two stone. His commitment extended to performing his own stunts in the film's torture scenes, earning him public and critical respect.
