What Is The Meeting of Two Queens About?
The premise of The Meeting of Two Queens without spoilers.
Using archival footage of Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo, Cecilia Barriga’s cult video montage creates a lesbian romance between two queens. By re‑editing iconic scenes, the Chilean‑born artist shapes a silent film fantasy, using motifs like cigarettes, a one‑eyed glance under a brimmed hat, and a soundtrack to recast images in a queer context.
