In 2000, a bright, earnest sixteen-year-old named George David studies at Holy Spirit Convent College in Aluva, Kerala. He becomes quietly smitten with the village’s most talked-about beauty, Mary, the prettiest schoolgirl whose presence seems to light up the campus. George, along with his loyal friends Shambu and Koya, trails Mary with a mix of awe and hesitation, always on the verge of striking up a conversation but repeatedly pulled back by fear and illness of timing. Mary carries a following of suitors, and George watches from the sidelines as life keeps throwing little obstacles in the way of his chance to speak to her.
