Anna Claus runs Santa’s workshop with remarkable efficiency in December 1910, and the toy seāson progresses so smoothly that the workshop is finished a full week ahead of schedule. She suggests a new, faster route around the world to her husband, Santa Claus Charles Durning, but he is preoccupied with the growing pile of letters to Santa as Christmas approaches. Feeling the pull of a new life, Anna decides to test the route herself, taking the sleigh on an impromptu journey with the reindeer, and she embraces the chance to prove her own independence as she soars into the night, changing the balance of their relationship.

A sudden storm forces an emergency landing near the Statue of Liberty, where she befriends a local stable boy named Marcello David Norona. Marcello determines that Cupid has suffered an injury that will require a full week of rest, and he offers to escort “Mrs. North” to a welcoming boarding house in the city. As they travel, he paints a vivid picture of his neighborhood’s melting-pot energy, and Anna experiences a New York City that is alive with possibility and bustle, a far cry from the North Pole’s familiar routines.

At the boarding house, the host, Mrs. Lowenstein Rosalind Harris, worries about her daughter Sadie Lowenstein Debra Wiseman who is soapboxing in support of women’s suffrage. Mrs. Claus Angela Lansbury resolves the conflict with a fearless plan to return and restore balance, a plan that culminates in the perfect gift that will reunite the pair. The dispute at Tavish is resolved when Mrs. Claus confronts the man behind the toy factory’s troubles, and the path to peace becomes clear as duty and devotion align.

On Christmas Eve, Santa invites Anna to ride beside him for the first time, testing the route she devised and rediscovering the joy of their shared mission. Aboard the flying sleigh, the two are filled with renewed affection and steadfast devotion as they navigate the skies together, their bond strengthened by the journey and the gifts they bring to children around the world, ending with a triumphant celebration of family and wonder (The Best Christmas of All).
