Mr. Belvedere embarks on a lecture tour about the idea that you can feel young at eighty. He stops to listen when he overhears residents at a church‑run retirement home lament their aches and the monotony of aging, and the seed of doubt about whether reaching eighty is truly worth the effort starts to grow in him. His curiosity about the home—and about whether life beyond eighty still holds purpose—drives him to investigate more closely.
