Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2002): Ratings, Box Office & Plot

In 1893, a small Indian village struggles under the weight of an oppressive land tax imposed by British authorities. When a defiant farmer named Bhuvan challenges the tax, the ruthless Captain Russell proposes a unique solution: a cricket match. If the villagers can defeat Russell’s team, they will be spared the crippling tax. The stakes are high, and the odds are stacked against them, but the villagers find themselves united in a desperate fight for their freedom and livelihood.
