Anuradha Verma is a prominent criminal lawyer and a single mother who has never lost a case. On the day of a parent-child race at her daughter Sanaya’s school, Sanaya is abducted, and a chilling demand follows: to win her child back, she must defend a convicted felon in four days. To shield Sanaya from the fallout, Anuradha tells her family and friends that the girl is safe at her grandmother’s house, effectively cutting out law enforcement from the early stages of the crisis. The man at the center of the conflict is Niyaaz Shaikh, charged with the rape and murder of a young woman named Sia, a case that stands ready to go to trial in just a few days.
