Eyewitness 1956

After a heated argument with her husband, Lucy Church, Muriel Pavlow, storms out and goes to the local cinema for a distraction. Inside, two criminals, Wade, Donald Sinden, and Barney, Nigel Stock, are in the midst of robbing the cinema’s safe and murder the cinema manager as they press their heist forward. When they pursue her, Lucy is struck by a bus and rushed to the hospital, a twist of fate that keeps her in the town long enough for the danger to linger.

With the hospital now the stage for the drama, the robbers decide to stay nearby to monitor what happens to her, while Lucy’s husband, Jay Church, Michael Craig, grows more worried and combs the town in search of her. At the hospital, Lucy is placed in a quiet ward and remains unconscious, a fragile state that heightens the suspense of every move around her.
