Conan Edogawa [Minami Takayama], Kogoro Mouri [Akira Kamiya], Ran Mouri [Wakana Yamazaki], and the junior detectives Ayumi Yoshida [Yukiko Iwai], Genta Kojima [Wataru Takagi], Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya [Ai Orikasa], and Ai Haibara [Megumi Hayashibara] are invited to visit a client staying in a hotel beside a bustling theme park called Miracle Land. The day starts with Ran and the kids receiving free wristbands for the park, but the mood shifts quickly when Conan and Kogoro are pressured by the client to uncover a dangerous mystery in order to remove a pair of wrist watches that are rigged to detonate. The client ominously reveals that the wristbands given to Ran and her friends will explode if they step off the premises, turning the outing into a claustrophobic race against time. The client also explains that two other detectives who started this case have already either given up or paid a costly price, one being killed while another remains at large.
Conan and Kogoro press on, investigating an empty hotel where ski masks and a gun—a tool used in a robbery—are found. On the very same date, Kaitou Kid executes a jewel heist at a nearby company. Although Kogoro manages to retrieve the stolen bag, he ends up being arrested as Kid’s accomplice. A crucial call from the mysterious man follows, and he correctly identifies Conan as Shinichi, delivering a second clue that deepens the tension.
The investigation widens when Conan encounters Heiji Hattori [Ryo Horikawa], who reveals that he is also part of the search, and that his friend Kazuha Toyama [Yuko Miyamura] is being held captive. The two detectives join forces and make their way to Yokohama Ocean University, where they team up with Saguru Hakuba [Akira Ishida], a famed detective from the North. Together they uncover a troubling thread: Nishio, a former club president, has been charged with the murder of a classmate. Heiji confirms this lead with the client by phone, signaling that the core mystery to be solved is this murder case.
The pursuit is interrupted by a pair of motorcyclists affiliated with a mysterious mastermind who intends to kill Kaitou Kid. To elude danger, Conan, Heiji, and Hakuba split up, but disaster strikes when Conan falls from a bridge and sustains a leg injury.
Back at the hotel, Kogoro begins his report to the client, but Heiji intervenes and knocks him out to prevent a wrong conclusion from sealing his fate. The trio pieces together the truth for the blind, wheelchair-using client: Nishio and Reiko Shimizu [Fumi Hirano], a woman the client loved, staged an armored car robbery. The plan went wrong when a guard was killed; Kaitou Kid witnessed the escape. Nishio was murdered to silence the others, and Reiko was revealed as the real killer. In a panic to flee the city, the client’s car is sabotaged, nearly sealing his fate as well.
Reiko appears and attempts to finish the detectives, but is knocked out. Meanwhile Conan tries to reprogram the wristbands, but a gunshot damages the computer, leaving him able only to deactivate the link, not disable the restricted area entirely. The wristbands are collected by the police, except for one that seems unaccounted for—Genta’s—because the officers inadvertently forget that Sonoko Suzuki [not linked here due to cast limitations] is not involved and an extra bracelet should be counted. Afterward, the group heads toward the snake ride, carrying the unaccounted device. On the ride, Heiji spots the bracelet and shouts a warning; Haibara slips away with hers, but the motion of the ride causes the device to land in the last seat. When the ride exits into the sea area beyond the restricted zone, Kaitou Kid seizes the bracelet and lets the explosive mechanism work safely.
In a final twist, Conan reveals that Kaitou Kid had been alongside them for a long time, disguised as Saguru Hakuba [Akira Ishida]. The previously claimed deaths of the three detectives hired by the client are exposed as staged, unraveling the entire plot.
The case closes with the realization that the mystery was far more tangled than it appeared, and the true mastermind behind the conspiracy has been brought to light, even as the participants carry scars and lessons from the perilous investigation.
