What Is Behind the Eight Ball About?

Set in a summer theater in the Berkshire Mountains, Joan Barry (Carol Bruce) directs a musical comedy when two guest stars are shot on consecutive nights before the audience. Detective William Demarest orders everyone back the following weekend to restage the show and trap the killer. With no star willing to risk the role, Joan hires the Three Jolly Jesters—Al, Harry and Jimmy Ritz, Manhattan washroom attendants hoping for a break.
