
Just before the opening of Earl Carroll’s Vanities, the leading lady Ann Ware is targeted for an attack, jeopardizing her plans to marry star Eric Lander. Stage manager Jack Ellery calls on his friend, police detective Bill Murdock, to investigate. While Bill pretends to be there for a ticket, they discover a murdered woman and Bill immediately suspects Eric of the crime.
