Spoilers ahead
During a perilous expedition into Central Africa, Dr. Susan Matthews-Loomis and her husband, George Loomis, venture into the jungle to verify a local legend about a primal monster known to the natives as Mokele-mbembe, a creature bearing striking similarities to the Sauropod dinosaurs. They push deeper into tangled forest and unexpectedly encounter brontosaurus amid the shadows, marveling at how unafraid these giants seem of humans. As they observe these remarkable animals, they become especially drawn to the curious young offspring they nickname Baby, forming a tentative, almost protective bond as their study evolves into something more intimate and awe-filled.
