Ravi, Mammootty, is a calm, dependable banker living in Trivandrum with his wife Indu, Poornima Bhagyaraj, and their daughter Minimol, Anju Prabhakar. Indu grew up in an orphanage, and the trio enjoy a peaceful home life. Their world is touched by the presence of Abdu, M G Soman, a man who makes a living as a professional false witness in court; his past actions have already caused the death of an innocent man’s family, a weight he carries as he later reforms and turns to selling fish.

During a train journey, Ravi and Indu befriend Radha, Rohini, who is escaping an abusive stepfather to reconnect with her fiancé Venu, Ratheesh in Trivandrum. Radha stays with them until Ravi helps her secure a job at YWCA, offering stability. Meanwhile, Venu is shown as a decent man, but his circle includes friends who drift into immoral behavior.

One night at a cinema, a misunderstanding leads Indu to believe Venu is harassing her, and she publicly shames him. His friends, angry at the humiliation, abduct and rape Indu in a brutal act. Ravi stands by Indu as she begins the long process of recovery, and the couple decides to pursue legal action, even as they wrestle with the idea of withdrawing.

In the courtroom, Abdu betrays them with false testimony, allowing the culprits to walk free. A turning point arrives when Abdu learns that Indu is his long-lost sister, a revelation that chills him. Devastated by the consequences of these revelations, Indu takes her own life.

Radha discovers that Venu was innocent and that he had actually risked himself to save Indu, while the true culprits were his own friends. Ravi, haunted by the injustice, contemplates revenge, but Radha reveals that she and Venu have since married. The narrative intensifies when Abdu kidnaps Minimol, and he confronts his own guilt in a moment of confession. In a climactic confrontation, Ravi and Abdu shoot the two criminals. The film ends with Minimol placed in the care of Radha and Venu, as the police arrest Ravi.
