Sethu and his friend Roy drift through life with small-time con jobs, bunking at a lodge owned by Rathna Rathna and run by the shrewd Chaakkunni Chaakkunni. Their plan is simple but desperate: scrape together enough money to send Roy abroad for a better future. A routine scam leads them to be cheated by a Travel Agent, and a burglary attempt that goes catastrophically wrong lands them in jail. The aftermath hardens their friendship, and when they are freed, Sethu makes a decisive choice—he will part ways with Roy to pursue something steadier and safer.

In the wake of their breakup, Sethu—carrying a heavy burden of secrecy—returns to the lodge because his heart belongs to Rathna, the lodge’s owner. Chaakkunni’s practical help becomes a lifeline: he furnishes Sethu with educational certificates that once belonged to another tenant, enabling him to reinvent himself. With a forged name on those papers, Sethu becomes Albert Albert, landing a respectable job as a company supervisor. Yet the victory is brittle. The clock ticks with the fear that someone might recognize him as the man he used to be, and forgery could pull him back into prison. The dual thrill and danger of his new identity keep him awake at night, and every mundane interaction feels like the next possible exposure.

Into this fragile equilibrium walk Bharathan Menon, a friend of Sethu’s boss, accompanied by his whole family. Menon’s daughter is withdrawn and resistant to marriage, a psychological undercurrent that unsettles Sethu as he tries to keep up appearances. The puzzle tightens around Francis, whose motive centers on protecting his brother Binoy and his friends. It becomes clear that Albert’s supposed resilience was a shield for a darker past: those who raped Menon’s daughter while she attempted to elope with Albert found themselves threatened by the truth, and Francis acts to prevent exposure. In a calculated move, Francis disposes of Albert’s body in Menon’s garage and uses the death as leverage to renegotiate an earlier, shadowy pact.
