On a train back to Chennai, Ramanujan meets a software engineer named Jyothi. She has been engaged to Dr. Pradeep for many years. After they arrive in Chennai, [Ramanujan] asks his best friend Paul to help Jyothi find a place to rent. Because Jyothi is not married, she tells the rental owner that she is married to [Ramanujan] to secure a home she can share with him.

When she has to leave the home due to the lie, she stays at Ramanujan’s house, and the two of them present themselves to the neighbors as a couple. A quiet, growing affection forms as [Ramanujan] falls in love with [Jyothi], even though he understands that she is already engaged to someone else. She eventually travels back to Kerala for her wedding, with [Ramanujan] and [Paul] in attendance.

At the wedding, [Paul] drinks too much and publicly reveals that [Ramanujan] and [Jyothi] had been living together in Chennai, ending Jyothi’s relationship and forcing her to marry [Ramanujan]. Back in Chennai, [Jyothi] withdraws from [Ramanujan] despite his best efforts to win her over, and life grows tense as his mother’s accident adds a new layer of obligation and duty to their situation.

When his mother requires to meet Ramanujan and his would-be bride for one last time, Jyothi refuses to accompany him. He returns to Kerala, and [Paul] informs her that Ramanujan’s mother has died, a catalyst that fills Jyothi with guilt for not fulfilling that final wish. As Ramanujan goes missing after the last rites, Jyothi’s worry deepens while she faces the consequences of their tangled past.

In a hopeful turn, Ramanujan brings [Dr. Pradeep] to Chennai, suggesting that [Dr. Pradeep] and Jyothi could start a new life together if they wish. This gesture prompts Jyothi to reflect on the truth of Ramanujan’s love, and she ultimately understands the depth of his feelings. Choosing to stay with him, she forgives him and commits to a life together, guided by a renewed sense of trust and shared future.
