Ronny Yu

Ronny Yu Yan-Tai is a distinguished Hong Kong film director, producer, and movie writer. He has earned his fame for working on both Hong Kong and American films, most notably for his significant contributions to the American horror genre, including recognized movies such as Bride of Chucky (1998) and Freddy vs. Jason (2003). Yu, born in Hong Kong, acquired his education from Ohio University. He kicked off his career with films like The Servant (1979), The Saviour (1980), The Occupant (1984) and gradually made his way to the tops of both Hong Kong and American cinema. His 1994 classics, The Bride with White Hair and its sequel established him further in the industry, as he poured his creative genius in directing and producing.
