Dave Bautista Champions Sequel for Underrated Film Stuber

In a recent interview, Dave Bautista passionately advocated for a sequel to the 2019 buddy cop film Stuber, which he calls the most underrated project of his acting career. The actor is now collaborating again with the film’s director, Michael Dowse, on the upcoming action-thriller Trap House.

Bautista’s Praise for Stuber

Bautista expressed immense pride in Stuber, a film he made with director Michael Dowse and co-star Kumail Nanjiani. Despite a 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Popcornmeter, the film received a harsh 43% ‘rotten’ rating from critics, a fact Bautista believes contributes to its underrated status. He stated, “I’ve said this, and I will go to my grave saying this. Stuber is the most underrated film that I’ve ever done… I just want to step back on set with Mike and Kamail.”

Reuniting for Trap House

This professional reunion extends beyond hopes for a sequel. Bautista and Dowse have completed Trap House, a new film where Bautista plays an undercover DEA agent whose children become his primary targets in a criminal investigation. The film features a large cast, including:
