John Alberto Leguizamo Peláez (/ˌlɛɡwɪˈzɑːmoʊ/ LEG-wih-ZAH-moh; Colombian Spanish: [leɣiˈsamo]; born July 22, 1960 or 1964) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and film producer, most notable for his roles in over 100 films and his diverse work on television. Over the course of his career, he has produced over 20 films and documentaries, made over 30 television appearances, and has masterminded various television projects. His remarkable repertoire extends to Broadway, where he has written and performed, receiving four Tony Award nominations. He secured a prestigious Special Tony Award in 2018. His career began in New York City, rising to prominence through roles in Super Mario Bros and Carlito's Way. His notable filmography also includes Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, John Wick, and a turn as a voice actor in the Ice Age franchise and Encanto.

Leguizamo's illustrious television roles include Freak for which he clinched the 1999 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program, the first ever Latino to do so. He received further Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Paramount miniseries Waco and the Netflix limited series When They See Us. His body of work also encompasses ER, The Kill Point, Bloodline, and The Mandalorian. In 2023, he hosted the MSNBC series Leguizamo Does America. His commitment to preserving and promoting Latin American culture, as well as his unabashed exploration of themes such as family, sex, marriage, parenting, race relations, and more, combine to form an enduring legacy in entertainment history.
