Borys Szyc

Borys Michał Szyc-Michalak, known professionally as Borys Szyc, is a renowned Polish film and theatre actor and musician, born on September 4, 1978, in Łódź, Poland. He gained fame and recognition in 2010 when he won the prestigious Polish Academy Award for Best Actor. His educational background includes the completion of High School No. 26 in Łódź, and later, in 2001, he graduated from the Warsaw-based Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy, which marked the beginning of his successful film and theatre career. Since 2001, Szyc has been performing at Teatr Współczesny in Warsaw and was awarded the Wiktor, a notable award given by Polish Television (TVP), in 2007 for being the Best Polish TV actor. Szyc has showcased his acting abilities in numerous popular films such as Vinci, Testosteron, Mole, The Secret of Westerplatte, and Cold War. He also displayed his gift in famous TV series like For Better or Worse, Honey Years, Foster Family, Kasia i Tomek, and Niania. His career is not just restricted to films and TV; he also has a passion for music. He recorded a single 'Choć wieje, pada, grzmi' with Justyna Steczkowska and subsequently released his debut studio album 'Feelin' Good' under EMI Music Poland. In his personal life, he was in a relationship with Anna Bareja with whom he has a daughter named Sonia. In 2019, he got married to Justyna Szyc-Nagłowska, they have a son named Henryk born in 2020.
