A revision slugline replaces the original scene heading on a revised script page to reflect changes in location, time of day, or scene structure. It adheres to standard slugline syntax—INT./EXT., location name, and time descriptor—while appending a revision marker to signal change.

Function & Usage

When a location changes from “EXT. PARK – DAY” to “EXT. PARK – DUSK,” the slugline on affected pages is updated. This alerts departments—location, lighting, wardrobe—of the new requirements for dusk shooting. The revision slugline is printed in bold or highlighted to differentiate it from the original, ensuring clarity.

EXT. PARK – DUSK        REVISION 4 – 2025‑07‑24

• INT./EXT.: Interior or exterior designation.
• Location: Precise site name.
• Time: DAY, NIGHT, DAWN, DUSK.
