RPG session with deadly instructions

Adam participates in the group's RPG session with explicit instructions to kill all Apostles of Hell before they kill him. The boundary between game rules and real violence becomes dangerously thin. He begins acting out the mission with alarming seriousness.

Attack at Dr. Evil party invitation

Adam attends a costume party hosted by a man calling himself Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil attempts to recruit him into a cult and urges him to kill most of the party guests. The gathering becomes a crucible for a new ceremonial plan.

Police close in; confrontation in a factory

When authorities connect the killings to Adam, they corner him in a factory and open fire. The confrontation ends with Adam being shot, but his body vanishes and a puppet is left behind. The disappearance hints at a larger, supernatural force at work.

Armored figure takes Adam's place in a game

Survivors continue the game with a suit of knight's armor seated in Adam's place, and the armor comes to life. It kills their dungeon master, shifting the game into physical menace. The players realize the dungeon master was connected to the earlier killer and the devil behind it.

Dungeon master revealed as Dr. Evil

The survivors learn that their dungeon master was Dr. Evil, and by extension, the devil behind the killings. The revelation ties the blurring of their fantasy world to a real-world mastermind and a demonic force. The boundary between play and horror has collapsed completely.

Aftermath and lingering horror

The town grapples with the idea that cults and demonic forces manipulated events. The survivors confront fear, guilt, and the moral weight of what happened. The story ends with a lingering sense of threat rather than a clean resolution.
