In 1972, a Christmas-night murder at a villa near Seattle unsettles the region: the couple is found slain, the male victim crucified, and the house soon earns a chilling reputation. King County takes possession of the villa and it remains unsold for decades, its haunted whispers keeping buyers away.

Detective Maha Lakshmi and Captain Richard Dawkins are assigned to unravel the mystery, a case that grows deeper and stranger as missing-persons reports begin to pile up in Seattle. A deaf-mute artist named Sakshi travels with her fiancé to the villa, chasing a painting tied to a former owner whose ghost is believed to have claimed the couple. She eventually runs from the site bloodied and is later struck by a car, drawn into a web that links the villa’s past to her present.

As the investigation unfolds, it emerges that the victim is Anthony, a renowned cellist whose previous wife committed suicide. Maha digs into this clue, realizing that the villa’s history is not just a haunting but a trail of human secrets that could explain the disappearances rattling Seattle. Sakshi’s past begins to surface as well, including a close friendship with a girl named Sonali, who becomes inseparable from her fortunes and misfortunes.

From Sakshi’s orphanage origins in Sequim to a life shaped by art and opportunity, the story widens. Sakshi and Sonali end up connected through a gallery invitation and the generosity of Anthony, who donates a substantial sum to her orphanage and invites her to his concert. The two women grow closer, and Sakshi’s engagement to Anthony seems to mark a new chapter, even as Sonali’s possessive streak flickers into view.

When Sonali disappears, Maha intensifies the inquiry, tracing unsettling links between Sonali’s fate and the painting’s history. A hooded man appears during the investigation, sparking a confrontation that ends with a shot fired and the culprit escaping. A staff member named Tom uncovers a key in the villa’s basement, only to be killed by Richard, who pockets the key and eludes immediate capture. A telltale coat-button near Tom’s body nudges Maha toward Richard as a suspect, prompting her to break into his office and seize the key herself, a move that drives her onto a dangerous path.

Her pursuit leads to a farmhouse that secretly houses Anthony’s world, and a broader chase for CCTV footage that Richard struggles to obtain. The hooded man—revealed to be Vivek—had already taken the footage, tying the threads together. A flashback then reveals a complex friendship between Sakshi, Vivek, and Sonali: the trio’s dynamics are strained by jealousy, loyalty, and desire as they navigate love, trust, and the shadows of the villa’s history.

In the past, Sonali’s jealousy erupts in a tense incident when a café customer attempts to intrude on Sakshi, leading to a dramatic moment that results in Sonali’s arrest and a decisive turn in their friendships. Vivek and Sakshi eventually build a fragile partnership, while Sonali’s presence continues to complicate matters, especially as Anthony’s affection for Sakshi grows and Sonali contends with the idea of losing her best friend to someone else. The story spirals toward violence as Anthony’s past actions and the concealed truth about Richard’s involvement begin to surface.

The truth comes to light in a grim sequence: Anthony confesses to killing his wife and her lover at a motel to hide infidelity, and Richard—who had previously come to investigate his own wife’s unfaithfulness—helps cover up a related murder. In the present, Sakshi and Vivek devise a plan to expose Richard using the recovered footage. But Richard kidnaps Vivek, forcing a tense standoff. Maha, who had secretly placed a tracker on Richard’s car, closes in and kills him, bringing the truth about Richard’s crimes into the open. With Richard’s demise, the crimes surrounding Anthony and the villa are finally documented, though Anthony’s own murder remains officially unsolved. The film closes with Sakshi and Vivek paying their respects at Sonali’s grave, a somber reminder of the lives entwined by the villa’s haunting history.
