Akash Saraf is a Pune-based, up-and-coming pianist who fakes blindness as an experiment to improve his piano skills. One day, while crossing the street, he is knocked over by Sophie; she helps him up and learns that he is a pianist. Impressed by his talent, she arranges an engagement for him at her father’s diner. Akash usually wears opaque lenses to practice, but after meeting her, he is tempted to look at her. He stops wearing the lenses and simply pretends to be blind, and the two soon begin a romantic relationship. At the dinner, a retired actor, Pramod Sinha, notices Akash and invites him to give a private performance for his wedding anniversary.

Akash arrives at the Sinhas’ flat and Simi Sinha opens the door. To avoid a nosy neighbor who witnessed his supposed blindness, Simi lets Akash in to play the piano. He spots a dead body nearby—Pramod’s—and realizes the danger, but must feign ignorance to keep up his act. He also sees Manohar Jawanda, Simi’s lover and a police inspector, hiding in the bathroom with a gun. Simi and Manohar clean the crime scene and stuff the body into a suitcase while Akash continues to play. He sits on a bench to take it all in and notices Sakhu Kaur, the lottery-ticket seller with a Lord Shiva tattoo, who seems connected to the unfolding crime.

Akash tries to report the murder to the police but is discouraged when he discovers Manohar is a police inspector, and he concocts lies about a missing cat. Meanwhile, Simi overhears her elderly neighbor, Mrs. D’Sa, talking to a police officer about an unknown man going to the Sinhas’ flat the day of the murder. Simi later kills Mrs. D’Sa by pushing her off the apartment ledge. Akash happens to witness the arrival of a piano lesson for Pramod’s daughter, but is forced to keep up the act of blindness. A neighbor’s child records a video of Akash fully able to see. Simi goes to Akash’s house and hands him temple offerings as he makes coffee; after poisoning his coffee, she observes him closely and exposes his act when he spills it on purpose. Akash says he will leave for London and keep Simi’s secret, but he is drugged by the offerings.

The neighbor’s child shows the video to Sophie. As she arrives, Simi arranges things to make it look like she and Akash had slept together. Furious and heartbroken, Sophie leaves. When he wakes, Akash realizes that his sight was taken by Simi. Manohar enters Akash’s house to kill him, but he barely escapes and faints after hitting a telephone pole.

Akash wakes up in an illegal organ-harvesting clinic run by Dr. Swami. He and his assistants Murli, the rickshaw driver, and Sakhu, the lottery-ticket seller, decide to spare Akash when Akash reveals that Sakhu has a Lord Shiva tattoo he saw before going blind, shocking the three. The next morning, Akash also tells them about Murli. He reveals the murder secret that could earn them millions. They kidnap Simi, stage her suicide scene, and blackmail Manohar. However, Murli and Sakhu double-cross Akash, tie him up with Simi, and plan to take the money for themselves. At the rendezvous, Manohar shoots Murli but is trapped in an elevator and accidentally shoots himself. The money is revealed to be counterfeit.

Simi helps Akash escape and he removes her blindfold. While he is trying to find an escape for the both of them, Simi frees herself and attacks him. Swami enters; after a brief fight, he and Akash knock Simi out, tie her up in the boot of a car, and drive away. Swami reveals that Simi has a rare blood type and that her organs would sell for millions; he also plans to use her corneas to restore Akash’s sight. Simi awakens in the boot and, when Swami stops the car to sedate her again, she overpowers him and seizes the wheel. Akash, thinking Swami is still driving, pleads to release Simi.

Two years later at a gig in Kraków, Sophie finds Akash. Akash explains the entire story, and a flashback shows that Sophie dropped him off and then tried to run him over, but a hare hits the car’s windshield, causing Simi to lose control and die when the car crashes and bursts into flames. Sophie tells him he should have listened to Swami. Akash continues along, knocking a can away from his path with his walking stick, hinting that he did take Simi’s cornea.

In the bustling streets of Pune, a young pianist cultivates his art by pretending to be blind, believing that the limitation will sharpen his senses and deepen his music. Akash moves through the city with his cane and a quiet confidence, his world defined by the keys beneath his fingers and the imagined darkness that frames his performances. The film opens with his delicate routine, establishing a tone that balances gentle humor with a lingering undercurrent of tension, hinting that the line between perception and deception may be thinner than it seems.

A chance encounter with a vibrant stranger changes the rhythm of his life. Sophie helps him up after a collision, instantly recognizing his talent and offering a gateway into a more glamorous sphere: her father’s upscale restaurant. The invitation pulls Akash into a setting where culinary elegance meets artistic ambition, and the polished environment subtly underscores the contrast between his self-imposed blindness and the bright, watchful world around him.

Within the restaurant’s polished walls, a retired film star makes an appearance, bringing with him the aura of faded fame and lingering melodrama. Pramod Sinha notices the pianist’s skill and, in a gesture that feels both sincere and performative, asks him to play a private piece for a very special occasion. The request leads Akash to the elegant apartment of Simi, a younger, striking woman whose presence adds a layer of intrigue and charm to the gathering.

The film’s atmosphere is a blend of sleek urban sophistication and intimate, almost claustrophobic moments, where music becomes both a refuge and a catalyst. As Akash navigates these new relationships, the audience is invited to wonder about the true nature of his sight, the authenticity of the connections he forms, and the subtle mysteries that linger behind each polished surface.
