Their neighbor is Indira Thampi, KPAC Lalitha, an unmarried woman who endured a failed college romance, and her niece Asha Thampi, Revathi, who lives with her to attend college.

Asha’s good friend Unnikrishnan, Mohanlal, is the college sports coach and a family friend of the professor. He shares a love of music with Sarada, and they vibe well, which Asha misreads as a sign of something more between them. Unnikrishnan grows irritated by what he sees as Asha’s immature behavior.
