Madhava Rao, also known as Madhava, is a hot-tempered, fiercely protective man who holds court in a small town surrounded by his five sisters: Sarada, Ammu, Lakshmi, Gayatri, and Saraswati. He rules the household with an iron resolve, earning the nickname “Hitler” from the local youth for the way he disciplines anyone who dares to mistreat his sisters. The family’s life is tightly interwoven with that of their maternal uncle Aadi Seshu, whose children—Balachandra (Balu) and Bujji—are close to the clan. Plans are laid for a double set of marriages: Balu with Ammu, and Madhava with Bujji, once Sarada is married to her match.

During the search for Sarada’s life partner, a misunderstanding bursts into the open. Balu, hiding from Madhava, is discovered at the house, and Madhava fairly misreads the scene. The shock leads him to cancel all the arranged marriages between Balu and Ammu, and between Madhava and Bujji. The offense is compounded when Aadi Seshu’s harsh, demeaning comments about the sisters spill fuel on the fire, setting off a deep rift that fractures the family’s unity. Despite the setback, Balu makes a vow to win Ammu’s hand and to seek reconciliation with Madhava, though the path ahead remains thorny.

At the same time, Madhava’s relationship with his father has grown strained. He blames his father for his mother’s death, a consequence of a remarriage that Aadi Seshu supported. This history intensifies the tension between generations and fuels the schemes of Aadi Seshu, who, sensing that Madhava might retaliate, aligns with the Rudraraju brothers—longtime enemies of Madhava. The menacing trio hatch a plot to ruin Sarada’s life: they urge that she be molested by her professor, Mohana Rao, a plan aimed at cornering Madhava’s sense of honor and protecting their own interests. Sarada’s insistence on marrying the professor in defense of her dignity drives further wedges into the family’s already fragile balance, and Madhava reluctantly agrees to the arrangement, though he does so without fully grasping the truth of the situation.

The pressure proves too much for Ammu, who exits the family home in despair and ultimately marries Balu, deepening Madhava’s sense of betrayal and isolation. Aadi Seshu’s machinations do not stop there; he continues to block Balu and Ammu from returning to the family circle, while they relocate next door to Madhava’s home. Even as Madhava’s father tries to mend fences by reconciling Bujji with Madhava, the efforts mostly fail, producing more comic, yet poignant, misfires. The Rudraraju brothers escalate their assault by attempting to marry Bujji to their youngest brother, Chinna, a ruse she thwarts by feigning pregnancy to escape the predicament.

As the conflict intensifies, the Rudraraju brothers turn their cruelty toward Madhava’s sisters, accusing them of prostitution. The father intervenes to shield the sisters, but in doing so, he becomes a casualty of the family’s ongoing drama, being framed and undermined. A violent confrontation ensues between Madhava, Aadi Seshu, and Balu, during which the Rudraraju brothers seize the opportunity to strike a fatal blow: they kill Madhava’s father, who, in his final moments, reconciles with his son. To prevent Madhava from spiraling into vengeance, the truth about the killers remains concealed, at least for a time.

With the father’s death, Madhava’s half-sisters learn the full truth but are met with a cold reception from Madhava, who pushes them away, sending them to stay with Ammu. What follows is a cold war between Madhava and Balu, each representing segments of the family’s fractured loyalties. In a bid to restore balance, Balu steps forward to reunite the sisters with their brother. The Rudraraju brothers, not content with their earlier success, disguise themselves as Madhava and attempt to kill Balu. This shocking ruse prompts Madhava to rush to the hospital, where he confronts a devastating moment—the realization of how his family has rejected him and his role as their protector.

Gradually, the truth about the Rudraraju brothers’ involvement comes to light, and Madhava confronts them directly. In the heat of the confrontation, Aadi Seshu, gravely injured, confesses Madhava’s innocence to the family, shifting the balance of trust back toward the rightful patriarch. Madhava defeats the Rudraraju brothers, yet the victory does not bring immediate peace; he chooses distance, feeling the weight of his duties and the burden of leading a torn clan. Just when it seems he might depart for good, a moment of resolve returns him to his sisters. He sees a man teasing them, and the sight reawakens his protective instinct. He steps in once more to shield his family, reaffirming that, despite his stern exterior, Madhava will never abandon those he loves.

In the end, the film closes on a reaffirming note: the household endures its scars, misunderstandings, and deadly threats, but Madhava’s unwavering commitment to family remains the guiding force.
