Óscar Isaac Hernández Estrada (born March 9, 1979) is an acclaimed American actor recognized for his diverse range of roles and his efforts in breaking the stereotypes about Latino characters in Hollywood. In 2017, he was named the best actor of his generation by Vanity Fair, and in 2020, he was recognized by The New York Times as one of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century. Born in Guatemala, Isaac moved with his family to the US when he was an infant. During his teenage years, he dabbled into punk music, theater, and film - even landing his film debut in a minor role.
