His breakthrough came in 2009 when he was cast as the charismatic half‑masked hero in the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider W, a role that introduced him to a wide television audience and opened the door to a prolific film career. Over the next decade he displayed an extraordinary range, portraying a teenage rebel in The Backwater, a charismatic antagonist in Assassination Classroom as Karma Akabane, and the conflicted protagonist in the award‑winning drama Wilderness, for which he received the Japan Academy Film Prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. In addition to his acting achievements, Suda launched a successful music career in 2017, signing with Epic Records Japan and releasing the well‑received albums Play and Love, as well as several chart‑topping singles that blend pop and rock influences.
