Marie Göranzon (born Britt‑Marie Elisabeth Göranzon on 27 October 1942 in Linköping, Sweden) is a distinguished Swedish actress whose career spans over six decades. She first entered the professional world of theatre in 1962, but it was her rigorous training at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy between 1964 and 1967 that honed her craft and prepared her for a lifelong association with the Royal Dramatic Theatre, where she has been a core ensemble member since 1967. Throughout her extensive stage work she has tackled classic Swedish and international repertoire, earning a reputation for depth, versatility, and a striking presence that captivates both audiences and critics alike. In addition to her theatrical achievements, Göranzon has appeared in a variety of film and television productions, ranging from the 1985 drama False as Water where she portrayed Anna, to the popular police series Beck in which she played the Chief of Police during the 2015‑2016 seasons.
