Nils Börje Ahlstedt, known as Börje Ahlstedt, born on 21st of February 1939, is a prominent Swedish actor who has significantly contributed to the world cinema movement. He is particularly known for his collaborations with acclaimed directors such as Ingmar Bergman, Bo Widerberg, and Kay Pollak. Ahlstedt's body of work spans various prestigious films like Fanny and Alexander (1982), Best Intentions (1992), Sunday's Children (1992), and Saraband (2003). Born and raised in Stockholm, he honed his acting skills at the school of the Royal Dramatic Theatre from 1962 to 1965 and has been its dedicated ensemble member ever since. Early in his career, Ahlstedt made a mark with his commendable performances in films like I Am Curious (Yellow) (1967) and I Am Curious (Blue) (1968). His work is not only confined to films but also includes adaptations of August Strindberg's dramas and Astrid Lindgren’s children’s books, highlighting his versatility as an actor. Notably, he played the father of Ronia in Ronia the Robber's Daughter. Ahlstedt's remarkable performance in The Rabbit Man earned him the Best Actor award at the 26th Guldbagge Awards. He was also considered for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role in Saraband by USA Today. Börje Ahlstedt continues to enthrall audiences with his commanding screen presence, recently playing 'Pápá Fouras', a Swedish version of 'Père Fouras', in the 15th season of Fångarna på fortet on TV4 in 2013.
