Katarzyna Małgorzata Figura (born 22 March 1962 in Warsaw, Poland) is one of the most recognizable faces of contemporary Polish cinema, celebrated for her versatility across film, theatre, and television. She began her professional journey in 1976, shortly after graduating from the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw and completing further studies at the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique in Paris, quickly gaining attention for her striking blond bombshell roles. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s she embodied characters ranging from seductive prostitutes to the elegant wives of affluent men, earning the nickname “Polish Marilyn Monroe” after her breakthrough performance in Pociąg do Hollywood (1987).
