A Swiss professor of psychiatry, Rainer Dulsky, travels to Melania’s home, the granddaughter of Mrs. Dulska. Feeling a connection to the tenement house where the Dulski family resides, he begins research into their history. Melania, a filmmaker fascinated by her family's past, joins him. Together, they uncover deeply buried secrets, confronting the Dulski family's complicated past and the burdens of conscience they've long tried to conceal.
