Jeff Tremaine: Movies & Box Office

Jeff Tremaine, born on September 4, 1966, is a renowned American film and television director, producer, and screenwriter. He catapulted to fame for his role in co-creating the notable MTV reality stunt show, Jackass, with Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville. Tremaine hails from Durham, North Carolina and was brought up in a military family that relocated frequently before permanently settling down in Rockville, Maryland. His extensive career includes his past contributions as the editor of the skating culture magazine Big Brother and as an art director of the influential BMX magazine GO. Tremaine once also practiced as a professional BMX rider.

He produced the MTV reality series such as Rob and Big, Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness, Nitro Circus, and Adult Swim's Loiter Squad. Recognized for his directorial abilities, Tremaine directed and produced all the movies in the Jackass franchise. The third sequel to Jackass, Jackass 3D, was filmed in 3D starting in January 2010, featuring the cast from previous films. In 2014, Tremaine established his production company, Gorilla Flicks. He also directed the Mötley Crüe biopic The Dirt, the WWE Network series WWE Swerved, and the 30 for 30 film The Birth of Big Air. Other major productions under his name include Angry Sky and Jackass Forever, which released theatrically on February 4, 2022.
