Jason Clarke is a well-established Australian actor, born on 17 July 1969. He kick-started his acting career in 1995 and has since become a household name in the world of television and film. Clarke is especially recognized for his portrayal of Tommy Caffee on the television series Brotherhood. His acting prowess extends to antagonist roles in a myriad of films such as Zero Dark Thirty (2012), White House Down (2013), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), Terminator Genisys (2015), and Everest (2015) to mention a few. Clarke's 2022 performance in the HBO sports drama series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty where he played former Los Angeles Lakers player turned coach Jerry West further demonstrated his versatility as an actor.

Born in Winton, Queensland, Clarke completed his secondary schooling in North Queensland at Ignatius Park College. Initially, he began studying law in 1987, but he was more drawn to the arts and chose acting as his career path. This resolve drove him to enroll at the Sydney Actor's Studio before graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne in 1994. His career includes appearances in Australian television shows like Murder Call, Wildside, and Home and Away. He played 'Red' Hamilton in the 2009 film Public Enemies and had a major role in the 2012 crime film Lawless. Clarke gained prominence with his rendition of John Connor in 2015's Terminator Genisys, a film that grossed over $440 million worldwide. By 2023, he acted as Roger Robb in Christopher Nolan's historical epic Oppenheimer and Lieutenant Barney Greenwald in William Friedkin's The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.
