Ian Davies, better known by his stage name Ian Hart, is a highly renowned English actor. He was born on 8th October 1964 in the Knotty Ash district of Liverpool. He was brought up in an Irish Catholic family and attended Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School. His love for acting started from a young age. He was a member of the Everyman Youth Theatre in Liverpool and studied drama at the Mabel Fletcher College of Music and Drama. Ian Hart's acting career spans a variety of roles across numerous productions, with notable roles in One Summer, Backbeat, Land and Freedom, Nothing Personal, Michael Collins, and Liam. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his role as Professor Quirrell in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He also portrayed Ludwig van Beethoven in Eroica and Father Beocca in The Last Kingdom. His recent appearance includes his role as Carl in The Responder.

Throughout his career, Hart has displayed remarkable versatility in his roles. His performances have ranged from a POUM militia volunteer in Ken Loach's Spanish Civil War film Land and Freedom to playing a psychotic Northern Irish Protestant gangster in Nothing Personal. Among the several roles in which he's portrayed John Lennon, stands out The Hours and Times, a low-budget independent film. His work in Nothing Personal won him the Volpi Cup for best supporting actor at the 52nd Venice International Film Festival. He also played Middle-Eastern hostage Brian Keenan in Blind Flight. Additionally, Hart made a memorable appearance as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in Finding Neverland and as Dr Watson in a BBC One television film of The Hound of the Baskervilles. To de-stress and manage his hyperactivity, Hart practices yoga and kung-fu.
