Starving playwright Judith Wells bumps into carefree musical writer George Macrae while sharing a stolen plate of spaghetti. George persuades producer Sam Gordon to finance Judith’s absurd play “North Winds” to improve his romantic chances, even coaxing her to sing in a type of show she pretends to despise. Just as their romance blossoms, Gordon’s former flame Lulu reveals a surprising secret that threatens everything.
