What Is Ward Six About?
The premise of Ward Six without spoilers.
A provincial Russian doctor encounters his former pupil in Ward 6, the setting of the tale. Fascinated by the young man’s rebellious spirit and sharp wit, the doctor spends increasing time with him, turning to meditation as he does so, while experiencing mockery from his colleagues. The narrative adapts Chekhov’s short story of the same name.
