Within an aristocratic family, Kunju, Dileep is the youngest member who lives under the stern gaze of his elder brother Sudhakaran Menon, N F Varghese, a man whom many within the household both respect and fear. The sister-in-law, driven by greed, blocks any marriage proposals for Kunju to keep control of the family wealth, a defense echoed by Kunju’s brother who defers to his wife’s wishes. Yet the elder brother’s business ventures begin to falter, and losses mount, endangering the family’s livelihood and status.

Haunting memories from college in Palakkad trigger a schizophreniform disorder in Kunju after the death of his girlfriend, Malavika, who is portrayed by Sishwa. Amid this turmoil, he finds himself drawn to a woman from a lower social rung, Sridevi, Poornima Indrajith, whose presence challenges the family’s rigid expectations. Kunju’s love for Sridevi grows despite the objections of his relatives, intensifying the tension that already threads through the household.

Trouble erupts when Sudhakaran Menon is cheated by his lawyer and their clay factory is seized through illegal means. The legal blow and the surrounding stress push Kunju toward a breaking point, and in a psychotic outburst, he attacks the new owners and kills those who cheated them.
