Harlan Banks is a Robin Hood–style thief who has always chosen his own jobs, aiming to carve out opportunities to help others while keeping a careful distance from the law. Alongside his girlfriend, Jada, he plans one last score that would bring in around $20 million for their crew. The idea is to pull off a heist that lets him walk away with enough to do good in the world, but the plan is risky and the stakes are higher than ever.
Their ambitions collide with the harsh reality of crime when the crew’s path crosses Max Stevens and a setup that casts long shadows over the operation. The mood shifts as the team heads toward Las Vegas, and a sign of the times—a children’s hospital with a going out of business notice—drops in the foreground, underscoring the moral weight of the choices ahead. Banks decides to take a legitimate-ish gig driving an armored car for [Max Stevens], a move that seems like a step toward normalcy but soon proves to be anything but simple. The job spirals into chaos when Bruno Bruno, Banks’s partner, shoots a security guard, triggering a high-stakes chase through the glittering veins of the Las Vegas Strip in the armored van.
The chase ends with Banks in custody, and the story shifts to confinement. In prison, he forms a wary alliance with an inmate known as Ice Kool, whose grit and street wisdom become crucial to Banks’s resilience. With Ice’s help, Banks escapes, driven by a burning need to settle scores and reclaim control of his fate. The search leads him to a cold realization: a federal agent named Saunders is tangled with Max and was behind the setup all along, turning Banks’s quest for restitution into a personal vendetta against both men.
From there, the mission evolves into taking down the conspirators who framed him. Banks pivots from a heist-driven plan to a longer, more deliberate strategy aimed at bringing Saunders and Max to justice. Along the way, he must outmaneuver a web of danger, betrayal, and shifting loyalties, all while maintaining his root desire to do right by those who depend on him. The narrative threads together high-stakes action with a taut sense of justice, painting a portrait of a man who walks the line between outlaw and guardian. In the end, Banks confronts the consequences of his choices and fights to secure a future that honors the impulse to help others, even when the price is steep.
