Maddie craves a father’s love, only to find a hero in her XO father, Gary Dolan. As the USS Constellation sails its final homeward leg from Pearl Harbor to San Diego, it hosts a “tiger cruise” for Navy, Marine and Coast Guard families—mostly kids known as “Navy brats.” Amid celebrations, Maddie pressures her father to turn down a promotion for a shore job, but the sudden outbreak of a WCC terror crisis forces the crew back onto combat‑ready duty, reshaping the cruise’s joy into urgent resolve.

Maddie Dolan, a San Diego-born teenager, looks forward to the day her father, the Gary Dolan, a commander in the U.S. Navy, will retire so their family can spend more time at home with their mother, Kate Dolan, and sister Kiley Dolan. Gary invites Maddie to participate in Operation Tiger—a week-long cruise for military families aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation, where he serves as the Executive Officer. She agrees and soon finds herself bonding with other teens: Tina Torres, who is fascinated by the military, and Anthony, a New York teen who would rather be a drummer; Tina’s elder sister, the naval aviator Grace Torres, is someone Maddie admires. Maddie also grows close to preteen Joey Coleman, whose mother is aboard as a sailor.
