Corrie Ortiz, Krystie Po, is a bright, energetic 14-year-old who dreams of joining the male-dominated world of Thoroughbred horse racing. Her father died in a racing-related accident, and her mother remains wary of Corrie’s ambitions, making every step toward her goal feel like a quiet rebellion. Yet Corrie can’t shake the memory of her fallen parent or the stubborn belief that she belongs in the saddle. She clings to a special gift her grandmother calls the confidence of horses, a talent that lets Corrie understand and connect with her mount, Thunder Jam (TJ) Paul Rodríguez, who struggles to step out from his sire’s shadow.
