What Is The Miser About?
The premise of The Miser without spoilers.
Based on Molière’s play, the film follows Harpagon’s children, Cléante and Élise, who are secretly in love but have not told their stingy father. Harpagon, a miser, intends to arrange suitable matches for them. When Cléante finally confronts his father, Harpagon announces his own desire to marry Marianne, the very woman his son loves, oblivious to Cléante’s anguish and the resulting conflict.
