The premise of The Oldest Living Graduate without spoilers.

Henry Fonda plays Colonel J.C. Kincaid, an irritable Texas patriarch. His timid son Floyd (George Grizzard) schemes to win his favor and develop the Colonel’s land by staging a city‑wide ceremony that hails Kincaid as the oldest living graduate of a military academy.
