
After killing a man in self‑defence, Bat Masterson flees to Dodge City and learns his brother Ed is running for sheriff. When Ed is slain by the corrupt incumbent’s hired guns, townspeople persuade Bat to run in his place. He wins, but as sheriff he must balance his thirst for vengeance with the law, confronting friends and new threats.
