The first story takes place in ancient Kush, where Prince Tanouékamani is deeply in love with Princess Nasalsa. However, her mother, the Mère régente, refuses to let them wed, insisting her daughter only marry the Pharaoh of Egypt. Instead of using violence, the young prince employs wisdom and divine assistance to conquer Egypt.
