Amelita, known to her neighbors as Amy, leads an aging, stubbornly steady life as a jueteng kubrador in a poverty-stricken squatter neighborhood. Despite regular crackdowns on the illegal numbers game, she clings to the career she has known for more than twenty years, moving through streets with a practiced rhythm as she collects bets from loyal patrons day after day. Her husband Eli, also aging, keeps the family afloat by running a small sari-sari store, a humble backdrop to the worries that press on them: their grown children have left home, Mona working as a domestic helper abroad, and Juvy, who is always pregnant and living with her in-laws. Their youngest son, Eric, is a young soldier whose life has just gone from promise to absence after dying on duty in Mindanao, a loss that weighs heavily on the family.

Three days before All Saints Day, Amy’s routine is interrupted when a police officer apprehends her while she’s on the job. She ends up at the police station along with the other kubradors, only to be released when their kabo bails them out. The disruption of their day-to-day rhythm hints at how precarious their world is, where small missteps can become a matter of risk and consequence.

The next morning, Amy returns to the streets and renews her clandestine work, crossing paths with a parish priest who asks her to collect abuloy donations from neighbors for a neighbor’s sudden death. Later, when Amy remits the afternoon’s jueteng collection to her kabo, she finds him sick and asks her to stand in at the next draw, a testament to the trust built up over years within the jueteng network.

Together with fellow kabos, Amy waits for the table manager to arrive with the draw’s numbers. But the draw is canceled, and the table manager delivers the winning numbers himself from the jueteng financier, a twist that leaves Amy and her peers unsure about what comes next. That night, Eli reveals a fresh sting—the neighbor’s bet was not handed over, and the loss must be paid out. To cover the debt, Amy must scramble to borrow money from her kabo, feeding the family’s already tense finances as the All Saints Day vigil approaches.

The ritual atmosphere thickens as a mammoth crowd gathers at the cemetery for All Saints Day. At Eric’s grave, Glenda, Eric’s girlfriend, offers flowers and prayers, a scene that underscores the personal costs of conflict, duty, and loss. Amy’s mood shifts from anger to recall and reflection as she wanders the cemetery grounds, seeking a moment to cool off. The day’s tension erupts outside the cemetery: two vehicles collide, their drivers trading heated words until one of them pulls a gun and fires. The bullet travels past Amy and strikes a teenage boy behind her, a jarring reminder of how quickly fate can alter a life. Shouts for help rise as the police arrive and arrest the gunman, while bystanders rush to carry the injured boy into a vehicle, and Amy, still reeling from the shock, follows the scene as the vehicle speeds away into the night.
