What Is The Baker’s Wife About?
The premise of The Baker’s Wife without spoilers.
In a tiny Provençal village, the newly arrived baker Aimable sets up his shop and marries the beautiful, much‑younger Aurelie. The night after he bakes his first loaves, Aurelie runs off with a shepherd. Grief‑stricken, Aimable can no longer work, and the villagers—who had initially mocked his humiliation—realize they need his bread. Determined, they devise a plan to track down Aurelie and bring her back, hoping to restore the bakery’s production.
